Week 3

section 2.2

O.J. Simpson is in the news once again, except this time it is a legal group that believes Simpson was wronged in his latest court appearance. The group, the "Society Against Legal Injustice, says Simpson's case was mishandled and he deserves an appeal. The group lists what it calls errors in the case, including the contention that Simpson was targeted because of his controversial acquittal in the killings of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her companion Ronald Goldman in 1995." They are asking the public for money so that Simpson can have a chance at an appeal, which they assume will cost around $1 million. The group said that Simpson was not a wealthy man anymore, therefore was at the mercy of the Los Vegas courts. (Let's petition for everyone who has an unfair trial in this country and who is not wealthy, that would certainly help all the people with money problems currently). Simpson was charged in December of robbery and assault and was sentenced for a maximum of 33 years. He is eligible for parole in nine years.

I say to this article, "Absurd, there is no one way I would give of my money freely to a man who everyone knows killed his former wife and her friend. No matter that it wasn't proved in court, everyone knows. He even wrote a book about it. He is a manipulator and is where he belongs. Isn't it funny that people always get what they deserve in the end?

  1. I agree that OJ Simpson deserves to be in jail. No person should be above the law, and OJ Simpson is definitely not the kind of person that should be exempt from serving time. He is where he belongs, and I think he should stay there.
